StateThat Terms

Last updated: June 19, 2026

Acceptance

By using StateThat, you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Eligibility

You must be 18 or older to create an account. By registering, you represent that you are at least 18 years old.

One Account Per Person

StateThat requires phone verification to enforce one account per real person. This is essential to the integrity of alignment scores because multiple accounts corrupt the data that users and elected officials rely on. Creating or operating multiple accounts is a material violation and may result in permanent suspension.

Use of the Service

StateThat is for informational and civic engagement purposes only. It is not legal, financial, or professional advice. Official government sources remain authoritative, and you should verify important decisions against linked source records.

AI-Generated Summaries

Bill and executive order summaries may be generated by AI and may contain errors or omissions. We work to improve accuracy, but we make no warranty of completeness, correctness, or fitness for a particular decision.

Prohibited Conduct

You may not bypass access controls, abuse rate limits, scrape at scale, create multiple accounts, harass other users, misrepresent your identity, submit unlawful content, or interfere with the availability or integrity of StateThat.

Intellectual Property

StateThat content, branding, and code are owned by StateThat. Government records are public domain. AI summaries and product-generated analysis are StateThat-generated content unless otherwise stated.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time from Settings.

Disclaimer of Warranties

StateThat is provided as is and as available. We do not warrant uptime, accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StateThat's liability for any claim is limited to $100 or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, whichever is greater.

Governing Law

The governing law state and dispute jurisdiction will be finalized before production launch.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be announced in-app when appropriate.
