The order creates a presidential task force to coordinate federal planning for security, transportation, border entry, and emergency response during the 2028 Games.
A presidential task force brings together federal leaders to plan and coordinate security, transportation, border entry, and emergency support for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The task force will coordinate security, travel, transportation, emergency response, and visa and credentialing work with federal, state, and local partners.
The President establishes and chairs the White House Task Force on the 2028 Summer Olympics. The task force includes senior officials from national security, transportation, commerce, communications, law enforcement, and other federal offices. The President may invite or designate leaders of additional agencies and offices to participate. The Department of Homeland Security provides administrative support and funding for the task force, subject to available appropriations. Agency-member reports about Games planning and activities are due to the task force’s Executive Director by October 1, 2025. The task force ends December 31, 2028, unless the President extends it.
The task force coordinates federal planning and recommends solutions for problems that could hinder federal support for the Games. Its work covers security, transportation, entry and exit, foreign participant visas and credentials, law enforcement, counterterrorism, and emergency response. Agencies must provide information and assistance that the task force needs. The order does not itself grant visas, set eligibility rules, or create enforceable rights or benefits. These coordination and readiness duties apply during planning for the 2028 Games and related events.
