If passed, operators would take 1% of bets on past races from betting pools before paying winners and send it to highway fund accounts starting July 1, 2027.
After a betting event, operators would send the racing commission 1% of the total bet on past-race events every Wednesday. This applies to Wyoming operators who pool bets and to the total bet on past-race events. Operators would take the payment from betting pools before paying winning tickets. It would not reduce the amount operators may keep. The money would go to state highway fund accounts. None of this payment would go to the University of Wyoming's technology transfer program. If enacted, this requirement would take effect July 1, 2027.
