Nevada would use export and local supply tests to decide which permanent jobs count for tax breaks and other state business programs. If approved, this would start July 1, 2027.
Nevada would use a definition of which jobs count for state tax breaks, transferable tax credits, and other economic development programs. The definition covers permanent jobs at Nevada workplaces where employees average at least 30 hours a week. A workplace must earn at least half its revenue from sales outside Nevada. Otherwise, the business must produce or sell goods or services that the state office says Nevada imports in significant amounts. That business must also work in a sector the office calls critical and help fill supply gaps, support local production, or keep money in Nevada. If approved, the definition would apply starting July 1, 2027. The state could prepare rules upon approval.
