If enacted, the bill would let Ware’s licensing authority grant It’s Wine O’clock permission to sell all types of alcohol for drinking elsewhere.
If enacted, Ware could grant It’s Wine O’clock a license within three years to sell all types of alcohol for drinking elsewhere, despite the town’s limit on license numbers.
Another applicant could receive the license at the same address with state letters confirming good standing and payment. The town could not approve a transfer to another address.
If the license is ended, not renewed, or no longer used, it would return to the town. Ware could reissue it elsewhere within three years.
Ware’s licensing authority could grant the alcohol license. The license would cover Stevens Strong LLC, doing business as It’s Wine O’clock, at 164D West Street in Ware. State alcohol rules and conditions set by the town would apply, except the cap on the town’s number of licenses. The act would take effect upon passage. The license would first have to be issued within three years of that date.
The town could grant the license to another applicant at the same address. The town could not approve transferring the license to another address. The applicant would need letters from the state revenue and unemployment assistance departments showing the license is in good standing and all required taxes, fees, and contributions are paid. Once the license is first issued on time, this option would remain available beyond the initial three-year deadline.
An ended or unused license would have to return to the town. A new applicant could receive the returned license at the same address or a different address in Ware. A new applicant would still need the state clearance letters and would have to meet the other license requirements. If the town does not reissue it within three years after its return, the license would expire.
