Covered medical professionals would complete a free course on inflammatory breast cancer once, when first applying for a license or certification or at their first renewal after the law takes effect.
Licensing boards would require applicants to submit acceptable proof that they completed the training. The requirement would cover physicians, certified registered nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and licensed nurse-midwives or certified midwives. Participants would take the course only once and pay no course fee. Boards would approve courses covering risks, symptoms, misdiagnosis, delayed diagnosis, and treatment, with an electronic completion certificate and any other board requirements.
