Township supervisors may join meetings by phone or computer for listed reasons, if most board members are at the advertised meeting place and everyone can hear and speak to one another.
A township board may let members join meetings by phone or computer under an established policy. The rules cover members of a second-class township board of supervisors joining township meetings from another location. Most board members must be physically present at the advertised township meeting place when the meeting begins or resumes. Remote participation is allowed only for illness or disability, care for an ill or newborn immediate family member, an emergency, or family or business travel. The devices must let remote members and people present hear and speak to one another. Changes to the board’s telecommunications policy take effect at least 30 days after the board votes on them. The act would take effect 60 days after enactment.
No hearings or votes scheduled.
