Starting July 1, 2027, county, city, and town shares of a local marijuana sales tax would have ongoing spending approval. State agencies could pay those shares without a new budget vote every two years.
The state would provide ongoing spending approval for county, city, and town shares of local marijuana sales tax revenue. The approval covers local tax revenue from marijuana sold at adult-use or medical dispensaries within the county. A county must impose the tax. The county gets 50% of the revenue, while its cities and towns split 45% by population. The state's remaining 5% pays for administration. The proposed spending approval would take effect July 1, 2027.
No hearings or votes scheduled.
