Argument forVoluntary donations could give Carry Shulock-Sexton more leave for the illness or disability that led to the bank.
Argument againstEmployees who donate days could have less leave available for their own illnesses, vacations, or personal needs.
More detail
The Department of Agricultural Resources would establish a sick leave bank for Carry Shulock-Sexton. Only Carry Shulock-Sexton could use donated days from this bank, and only agriculture department employees could contribute. Department employees could voluntarily donate one or more sick, personal, or vacation days. The department would decide whether an absence relates to the illness or disability that led to the bank. If Shulock-Sexton leaves the department or asks to close the bank, unused time would move to the extended illness leave bank.
