The training fund would make fingerprinting costs eligible for repayment when people seek or renew volunteer emergency medical technician certification. Covered volunteers provide basic emergency care without pay. Full-time hospital emergency medical technicians are excluded. Payments would go to certified private training providers, within available fund money, for costs not otherwise repaid. Providers would need to submit a qualifying application. This change would take effect immediately if the bill becomes law.
