If enacted, people with autism, communication disorders, or Tourette syndrome could request diagnosis notes on licenses or state IDs and vehicle records after providing any required documents.
People diagnosed with Tourette syndrome could request a diagnosis note on a license or state ID after providing any required documents. Requested notes for all three covered disorders would also appear in vehicle registration records.
The Motor Vehicle Commission would add Tourette syndrome to its diagnosis note option and put requested notes in vehicle registration records. This covers people diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, a communication disorder that includes stuttering, or Tourette syndrome. The person or their parent, guardian, or caregiver would have to request the note and submit any required documents. The note would appear only on a license or state ID and in vehicle registration information; no separate document would be required. These changes would take effect on the 180th day after enactment.
