New Jersey colleges would use a state-developed survey to ask about students’ experiences with sexual assault and misconduct and their schools’ responses.
Colleges would use the same state-developed survey on sexual assault and misconduct, starting in the first full academic year after the bill becomes law.
The Secretary of Higher Education would develop the required survey. New Jersey colleges and universities would have to use the common survey. Colleges could add questions for local needs, but would not send those answers to the state higher education office or Campus Sexual Assault Commission. Schools would continue surveying at least every four years. The requirement would first apply in the first full academic year after enactment.
No hearings or votes scheduled.
