The Council declares an emergency so separate legislation can pass after one reading. That legislation would let people who live outside D.C. serve on the Community Schools Task Force.
The Council finds an emergency that makes one-reading adoption of the separate amendment act necessary. The planned amendment would allow people who do not live in D.C. to serve on the Community Schools Task Force. This resolution does not itself change who may serve; the separate Emergency Amendment Act must be adopted. The task force is expected to submit its recommendations by February 28, 2027. The resolution took effect immediately on September 22, 2026.
No hearings or votes scheduled.
