Arlington voters would decide in 2027 whether to let the town issue 10 more all-alcohol licenses to qualifying restaurants and function rooms, raising the total from 20 to 30 if approved.
Arlington’s select board would place a question on the 2027 annual town meeting ballot about increasing the town’s restaurant alcohol-license limit. The question covers licenses for serving all alcoholic beverages at restaurants and function rooms with seating for at least 20 people. If a majority votes yes, Arlington would have 30 such licenses instead of 20. The licenses would still follow other state alcohol-law requirements, except rules limiting the number of licenses and the ballot-question wording. The ballot question would appear at Arlington’s 2027 annual town meeting, and the act would take effect when passed.
