If enacted, new or renewed contracts for New Jersey’s state and school employee health plans would require consultants to present yearly cost and rate analyses.
For contracts entered into or renewed on or after the bill takes effect, consultants for both health plans would present a current-year analysis by December 1 and a next-year rate analysis by June 1.
The two health plan commissions would require consultants to prepare and present two analyses each year. It covers consultants hired by either commission for health plan cost analysis or rate-setting work. The requirement applies only to contracts entered into or renewed on or after the bill takes effect. If enacted, the bill would take effect immediately. An analysis for a plan year ending December 31 is due by that December 1. The rate analysis for a year beginning January 1 is due by June 1 of the preceding year.
