The Assembly would urge limits on wastewater from treatment for PFAS, long lasting chemicals, entering New Jersey waterways and support approved disposal of certain nonhazardous waste.
The Assembly would urge less PFAS treatment wastewater in New Jersey waterways. It would support approved ways to dispose of certain nonhazardous PFAS waste. These are recommendations.
The Assembly would call for limiting PFAS treatment wastewater entering waterways and support other disposal methods. This concerns New Jersey surface waters and nonhazardous waste left from PFAS treatment. Releases should be limited as much as practical. Other methods include properly permitted underground wells or other approved facilities. The resolution states the Assembly’s position and does not require facilities to change their practices.
