A taxpayer could claim an income tax credit for part of the cost of eligible local newspaper subscriptions. The credit would cover subscriptions to newspapers qualified under Wisconsin law to print legal notices. The credit could not exceed the taxpayer’s income tax owed. A married taxpayer filing a separate return could claim no more than $125. The credit would apply to tax years beginning after December 31, 2024. Claims would have to be filed within the period allowed for income tax claims.
