The failed proposal would let eligible DACA students pay resident tuition at University of Wisconsin System schools, starting with a term after its effective date.
A person with approved DACA status who has lived in Wisconsin for the 12 months before a term begins would qualify for the resident tuition rate at a University of Wisconsin System school.
The proposal would let a person who meets both requirements receive the resident tuition rate. The person must register at a University of Wisconsin System school, live in Wisconsin for the 12 months immediately before the term begins, and have approved status under the federal DACA program. The proposal would first apply to people enrolling for the semester or session after its effective date.
