Starting in the 2026–2027 school year, eligible children may take part in activities offered by the Wyoming district where they live.
The law provides that eligible children may take part in activities offered by their home district, including school activities sanctioned by Wyoming’s high school activities association.
School districts must permit eligible children to take part in activities they offer. This applies to school-age children who live in the district and are not enrolled full time in that same district. It includes activities sanctioned by the Wyoming High School Activities Association. A child cannot be under suspension or expulsion by a Wyoming school district. This rule applies starting with the 2026–2027 school year and each school year after that. The act takes effect July 1, 2026.
