Full-time nursing home and assisted living residents could renew identification cards without visiting an office, but they would need a fee, notarized residency statement and supporting documents.
Wyoming would allow eligible residents to renew identification cards without appearing in person. The option covers full-time residents of nursing care facilities and assisted living facilities. The applicant must submit the application and required fee. A facility administrator or manager must provide a notarized statement confirming full-time residency. The applicant must provide documents verifying any important change to information on the card. A person generally may not use this process after two such renewals in the previous 16 years unless the person's latest state photograph is no more than 16 years old at renewal. The process cannot be used to change personal identifying information. The renewal provision would take effect July 1, 2026.
