Honorably discharged veterans living in Wyoming could apply for a veteran license plate decal through county treasurers, with a fee capped at $5 per vehicle.
Honorably discharged Wyoming veterans could request a license plate decal for up to $5 per vehicle. They could not also obtain the other decal option named in the bill.
County treasurers would issue veteran decals after receiving completed applications and fees when license plates are issued or renewed. Applicants would have to live in Wyoming when applying and be honorably discharged veterans of the United States armed forces. Applicants would need written military separation records showing an honorable discharge or honorable service. The fee would cover reasonable administrative costs, capped at $5 per vehicle. Replacement decals would cost the same. Applicants could obtain this decal or the decal allowed under section 31-2-217(m), but not both. The decal would go in the plate’s lower left corner without covering other markings. Decals would not need renewal when plates are renewed. The bill proposed a July 1, 2026, effective date, but no recorded action shows enactment.
