Wisconsin sets aside money for long-term care insurance tax credits
Wisconsin law sets aside enough money to pay long-term care insurance assessment credits if a related bill creating the credit becomes law.
1
What it does
The law sets aside enough money to pay long-term care insurance assessment credits, if a related bill creating the credit becomes law.
Argument forIf a qualifying related bill becomes law, the state could have enough money set aside to pay the authorized credits.
Argument againstPeople counting on the credit could face uncertainty because this law takes effect only if a qualifying related bill becomes law.
More detail
The state provides enough money to make payments for the long-term care insurance assessment credit. The money is for credit payments under the listed state tax provisions. This law takes effect only if the named related bill, or another 2025 bill with identical content, becomes law; otherwise this act is void. The law takes effect on the later of the effective date of the first qualifying related bill or the effective date of this law’s reconciliation provision.
