Washington’s high school planning platform shows financial aid application progress and reminds College Bound students yearly; scholarship reviews begin in the 2027–28 school year.
The online high school planning platform shows students, families, and authorized school staff the student’s progress on state and federal financial aid applications.
The platform reminds College Bound Scholarship students each year about program requirements and financial aid applications they may need to complete.
Starting in the 2027–28 school year, students who report completing an aid application review scholarship information with school staff, who check possible eligibility and application completion.
The online high school and beyond plan platform must import state and federal financial aid application data so students, families, and authorized school staff can view progress and completion status. The platform is for students required to have a high school and beyond plan.
The platform must send electronic reminders at least once a year to students enrolled in the College Bound Scholarship Program. These reminders are for students enrolled in the College Bound Scholarship Program. Reminders cover the student’s enrollment, eligibility, program requirements, and financial aid applications the student may need to complete. If possible, the platform should also send reminders to the student’s parents or guardians. The platform must send reminders at least annually.
Students must review specified scholarship information with appropriate staff after indicating that they completed an applicable financial aid application. This applies to students whose high school and beyond plans include the financial aid application element. The review checks whether the student may qualify for state scholarships and whether the student completed an applicable application. The review must happen to the extent practicable. This review requirement begins with the 2027–28 school year.
