The failed proposal would have excused the filing fee for Wisconsin LLCs whose members and any nonmember organizers were all qualifying 12-to-17-year-olds.
The failed proposal would have waived the filing fee for an LLC whose members were all 12 to 17 years old. Any organizer who would not become a member would also have to meet the age and role rules.
The Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions would not collect the filing fee. The exception would cover an LLC only if all its members are youth entrepreneurs and, if it has organizers who will not become members, all those organizers are youth entrepreneurs. Every member must be 12 to 17 years old when the company forms. Any organizer who will not become a member must also qualify as a youth entrepreneur: someone ages 12 to 17 who is an organizer or will be a member when the company forms. The exception would apply to articles filed on the act’s effective date or later. The act would take effect on the first day of the second month beginning after publication.
