Washington’s labor department publishes each workers’ compensation class’s actuarial rate and explains any below-rate limit when it proposes premiums for the upcoming year.
The department publishes each class’s actuarial rate with its proposed premiums. When the director limits a class’s increase below that rate, the department explains the limit and how it affects other classes.
The Department of Labor and Industries publishes each risk class’s actuarially indicated rate with its proposed premiums. If the director limits a class’s maximum increase below its actuarial rate, the department publishes information about that limit. The information covers limited classes, the rates they would have had without the limit, and rate increases imposed on other classes as a result. The additional information is required only when the director limits a class’s maximum increase below the level indicated by generally accepted actuarial principles. The department publishes the rates and any limit information with its proposed premiums for the upcoming year and on its website. It sends the limit information to legislative committees and the workers’ compensation advisory committee.
