Alcohol regulators would report convictions to legislative committees
Alcohol regulators would report covered convictions to legislative committees each year, with the first report due December 1, 2026, if the measure takes effect.
1
What it does
Alcohol regulators would send legislative committees annual reports listing people convicted under the covered alcohol-consumption law. The first report would include convictions dating back to when that section took effect.
Argument forAnnual reports could help legislative committees track convictions under the alcohol-consumption law and oversee how it is enforced.
Argument againstThe first report could require the commission to gather and review records covering every conviction since the section became law.
More detail
The commission would prepare an annual report of people convicted under this section and send it to two legislative committee chairs. The report covers convictions under the section on consuming alcoholic beverages on premises. The first report must include all convictions since this section became law. Later reports must list convictions from the previous year. The first report is due by December 1, 2026. Each later report is due by December 1 each year. The act takes effect upon becoming law.
