The Division of Housing and Community Development operates within the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity under a state housing coordinator. The division’s work includes statewide housing planning, help for housing authorities, and analysis of housing data from local governments. Housing sponsors that receive state or state-administered federal money for affordable housing projects must report project and funding information to the division each year. Reports cover project spending, location, homes built, income levels served, deed restrictions, and unspent funds. A sponsor may submit information it already provides to meet a housing program’s reporting rules. If a project is unfinished when the report is due, the sponsor must report its progress and status. Reports are due by September 1 each year. These provisions take effect July 1, 2026.
