The older college preparatory/work ready pathway is unavailable to some students. This applies to students who were not enrolled in an accredited public high school before the 2025–2026 school year and had not already started this pathway. Students who were already on this pathway before the 2025–2026 school year may continue under its requirements. The pathway is unavailable to those students beginning with the 2025–2026 school year. The state must notify families that it will end in the 2029–2030 school year.
Eligible students entering eighth grade in 2025–2026 need four math units or sets of competencies for an alternate diploma. The four-unit requirement applies to eligible alternate-diploma students entering eighth grade in the 2025–2026 school year. An alternate diploma is for students with the most significant cognitive disabilities who take part in the Oklahoma Alternate Assessment Program. The four-unit requirement applies beginning with students entering eighth grade in the 2025–2026 school year.
A district school board may waive the Oklahoma history graduation requirement for certain students who complete an approved project or paper without artificial intelligence. The possible waiver concerns Oklahoma history graduation requirements for qualifying children of military families who transfer from another state. The student must be a child in a military family who transferred from another state and completed a similar history class or a half unit of history or citizenship skills there. The project or paper must show knowledge of Oklahoma history or United States Government, be completed without artificial intelligence, and receive district approval.
