Starting November 1, 2026, Oklahoma’s controlled-substance law will use the listed Schedule I and Schedule III classifications and related exceptions.
Schedule I covers the named substances and broad chemical groups listed in the act, with exceptions for some industrial products and federally approved prescription drugs.
Schedule III covers the listed drugs, steroids, ketamine, and limited narcotic preparations, while exempting certain livestock, medical, and mixed products.
Oklahoma law treats the substances and chemical groups listed in Schedule I as controlled substances under the state law. The list covers named drugs, hallucinogens, synthetic cannabinoids, and related chemical groups. Materials are excluded when the law specifically excepts them or places them in another schedule. Listed industrial uses of certain chemicals are excluded from all schedules. The Director may exempt certain legitimate industrial products after notice and a hearing. Certain federally approved prescription drugs are excluded unless the State Board of Pharmacy takes action. These Schedule I provisions apply beginning November 1, 2026.
Oklahoma law treats the substances listed in Schedule III as controlled substances under the state law. The list includes certain approved GHB drugs, steroids, ketamine, and other named substances, along with limited narcotic preparations. Livestock implants regulated by the federal Food and Drug Administration are exempt. The Board of Pharmacy may exempt some mixtures when other ingredients reduce the risk of abuse. Certain hormone products and steroid combinations are exempt. These Schedule III provisions apply beginning November 1, 2026.
No hearings or votes scheduled.
