Starting November 1, 2026, Oklahoma prison inmates receive monthly credits based on class level, performance, and certain felony convictions.
Inmates receive monthly credits based on their class level and performance. Higher levels require stronger evaluations, and some felony convictions limit which credit rates are available.
The Department of Corrections assigns inmates to class levels, and monthly credits depend on the assigned level. The rules cover inmates in Oklahoma state correctional institutions, with credit rates depending in part on criminal history. The Department's policy considers work, education, programs, conduct, and living-area standards. Credits may be removed for misconduct or poor performance. People with listed felony convictions cannot receive the higher credit rates available to people without those convictions. The act takes effect November 1, 2026.
