The Oregon Ocean Science Trust may create and maintain a tax-exempt nonprofit. The authority applies to the Oregon Ocean Science Trust and an entity it creates. The entity must be created to advance the Trust’s mission. The entity must be exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The law takes effect January 1, 2027.
