A city or county must approve a supplemental dismantler certificate before the state transportation department issues it. This applies when a business seeks to expand its site, move, or open another location under its dismantler certificate. The local government must approve the business as suitable and find that the location meets state requirements and local rules. Before approving, it must notify property owners who are or will be next to the business. The law takes effect June 5, 2026.
