New Jersey would waive transfer and licensing fees. The waiver would cover honorably discharged U.S. military or state National Guard veterans and their spouses, civil union partners, or domestic partners. Applicants must transfer a valid commercial driver’s license from their previous home state and provide proof of the veteran’s honorable discharge. Required fingerprinting and background checks would still carry fees. The waiver would start on the first day of the third month following enactment.
