Businesses paying government fees, taxes, or debts can use cards, checks, or electronic transfers, though some payment types and agencies are excluded.
Businesses paying a government agency's fee, tax, or other debt can use a debit card, credit card, check, or electronic transfer, except for specified payments and agencies.
Agencies may also choose to accept other ways for businesses to pay, such as cash or money orders; they are not required to accept them.
Each governmental agency must accept debit cards, credit cards, checks, or electronic transfers from a business entity paying a fee, tax, or other debt. A governmental agency includes state offices and departments, districts, cities, counties, and other state government units. The payer must be a business entity. This rule does not cover payments under NRS 353.1467, certain payments to the Department of Taxation, or payments to the Cannabis Compliance Board, the Division of Insurance, or any state court.
A governmental agency may choose to accept other payment methods, including cash or money orders. This option applies to governmental agencies accepting payments from business entities for agency fees, taxes, or other debts. Accepting these other methods is at the agency's discretion.
