The law lets the Campus for Hope Foundation develop a qualified project or children’s behavioral health cottages on specified state land without state building oversight, while wage rules still apply to qualified project contracts.
The foundation or its successor is exempt from state building oversight and most public works rules when developing a qualified project or children’s behavioral health cottages on specified state land. Prevailing wage rules still apply to qualified project contracts.
Development of the specified projects is exempt from state building oversight and most public works rules. This covers the Campus for Hope Foundation, or its successor, developing a qualified project or cottages that provide services related to behavioral health issues in children. The land is the part of the Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services Campus identified by Clark County parcel numbers 163-02-601-007 and 163-02-601-005. The public works exemption does not cover prevailing wage rules for contracts to develop a qualified project; those rules apply as if a public body awarded the contract. The law took effect upon passage and approval.
