The law provides $1,314,000 from the State General Fund to UNLV’s School of Dental Medicine to create a cleft and craniofacial care team. The clinic must serve children under age 3. It may also serve children with special needs ages 3 through 17 if the team determines resources are available. The team must receive approval from the American Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association or its successor. The team must partner with other higher education institutions in Nevada and organizations that may help it meet the requirements. The act took effect when approved. The money could not be committed after June 30, 2027, or spent after September 17, 2027; any remainder must return to the State General Fund by September 17, 2027.
