From October 2025 through September 2027, Nevada requires operators of brain stimulation research pilots to report on their plans, participants, and results.
Pilot operators must notify the state before research starts, report participant and treatment information at least once each quarter, and send a final report when the pilot ends. Reports must protect participants’ identities.
Practitioners and organizations running a covered research pilot must send information to the Legislative Counsel Bureau before research starts, during the pilot, and after it ends. The rules cover Nevada research projects that provide transcranial magnetic stimulation, electromagnetic brain pulse treatment, or both. Before research starts, the notice must identify the operator, research plan, expected participants, locations, and required approvals, and include proof those approvals were obtained. Reports must not include information that could identify a participant. If multiple practitioners or organizations run the same pilot, they may submit one shared report. The Bureau only receives the reports; it is not required to review or evaluate them. The law takes effect October 1, 2025, and expires September 30, 2027. Operators must send the notice before research, quarterly reports while it is underway, and a final report after it ends.
No hearings or votes scheduled.
