Nevada law exempts certain offices and health care facilities from a separate health division permit when a dentist-physician provides covered care to dental patients.
Certain offices and health care facilities do not need a health division permit when a physician who is also a dentist provides anesthesia or sedation only to dental patients. The physician must hold a dental board permit and stay within its limits.
The law exempts certain offices and health care facilities from the health division permit requirement for covered dental anesthesia or sedation. The exemption covers a physician’s office or a health care facility other than a medical facility, when the physician provides the care only to dental patients. The physician must also be licensed to practice dentistry and hold a dental board permit for the anesthesia or sedation provided. The physician must stay within the scope of that permit.
