North Dakota's Legislative Management creates a task force to review government work and report findings and recommended legislation each year.
A task force reviews agency and Supreme Court budgets, programs, and rules, looking for duplicate work, cost savings, and other ways to improve government.
Each year, the task force reports its findings and any recommended legislation. The law also provides pay or expense support for members and Legislative Council staffing through July 31, 2031.
The Legislative Management creates a task force to review state government operations. Members include state officials, one resident appointed by the governor, and members of the House and Senate. The task force may ask the state auditor or an independent private auditing firm to evaluate programs. Members serve two-year terms, and the task force meets at least once each calendar quarter.
The task force sends an annual report to the Legislative Management. The Legislative Council provides staffing and administrative services for the task force. The report covers findings, progress on cost savings and efficiency, and any recommended legislation for the next legislative session. State employees serving on the task force receive their regular salary and mileage and expense reimbursement from their employer. Legislative members receive per diem and travel and expense reimbursement as provided by law. The Act is effective through July 31, 2031, and is ineffective after that date.
No hearings or votes scheduled.
