The department may use a visitor’s home-state ID and medical marijuana card instead of a written certification to decide an application. This process is for a nonresident with a valid medical marijuana card from the state where the person lives. The applicant must live in the state that issued both the ID and medical marijuana card. The department may approve or deny the application using those documents. After approving an application, the department must issue the North Dakota card within 30 calendar days. The card is valid for 60 days.
