If passed and adopted by county resolution, the measure would let Prentiss County add capped charges to convictions and use the money for courthouse repairs and renovations.
The county board could add up to $25 to most convictions and up to $50 to impaired-driving convictions. The money would pay for repairs, upkeep, and renovations at the historic courthouse.
The Prentiss County Board of Supervisors could add a charge to certain convictions. The charges would apply to convictions in Prentiss County Justice, County, and Circuit Courts. The board may choose to impose the charges by adopting a resolution. The bill would take effect after passage and be repealed from and after July 1, 2030.
