The state treasurer must move $1 million from uncommitted jury reimbursement money to the court equity fund at each fiscal year’s end in 2027, 2028, and 2029.
Fees collected for Court of Appeals filings and certain copies of court papers must help pay the court’s operating expenses.
The state treasurer must transfer $1 million from the jury reimbursement fund to the court equity fund for each of three specified fiscal years. The transfers involve Michigan’s juror compensation reimbursement fund and court equity fund. Each transfer must come from money left in the jury reimbursement fund at that fiscal year’s end that has not already been committed. The transfers apply to the state fiscal years ending September 30, 2027, September 30, 2028, and September 30, 2029.
The Court of Appeals fees covered by this law must support the court’s operating expenses. This covers collected fees for filing appeals, asking the court to act, and obtaining certain copies of court papers. The law took effect September 21, 2026.
