Measure would fund MaineCare one year and remove funds the next
The proposal would direct one-time MaineCare funding to fiscal year 2024–25 and remove an equal amount scheduled for 2025–26.
1
What it does
Part A would provide $117.6 million in one-time state funding for MaineCare provider payments in fiscal year 2024–25.
Part B would remove $117.6 million in one-time MaineCare funding for fiscal year 2025–26 that an earlier law provided.
Argument forThe one-time funding could help pay MaineCare providers for costs in fiscal year 2024–25.
Argument againstRemoving the one-time funding for 2025–26 could leave less money available for MaineCare provider payments that year.
