Kansas voters would decide whether homes, apartments, and mobile-home community land are assessed at 9% of value starting in 2027.
If Kansas voters approve the amendment, homes, apartments, and land for mobile-home communities would be assessed at 9% instead of 11.5% of value for property taxes.
If approved by voters, the amendment would set the assessment share for residential property at 9%. It covers real property used for homes, including multifamily homes and land used for mobile or manufactured home communities. Two-thirds of each chamber must approve the resolution before the amendment can go to voters. The proposed share would apply starting January 1, 2027, and in later years. The resolution schedules a vote for the November 2026 general election, unless lawmakers call an earlier special election.
No hearings or votes scheduled.
