If enacted, county appraisers could not request certain property appraisals or individual lease documents from taxpayers, but could still request a certified rent roll.
The bill would bar county appraisers and their designees from requesting certain appraisals and individual lease documents from taxpayers. The limits apply to requests by a county appraiser or the appraiser's designee to a taxpayer. The bar covers appraisals prepared to obtain mortgage financing, fee appraisals with an effective date more than 12 months before January 1 of the valuation year under appeal, and documents detailing individual lease agreements. Appraisers could still request a certified rent roll. If enacted, the bill would take effect after publication in the statute book.
