The proposal died in committee; it would have required Kansas drivers to signal roundabout moves and exits without following the usual 100-foot signaling rule.
Drivers would signal right or left moves and exits within roundabouts. These moves would be exempt from the requirement to signal for at least 100 feet before turning.
Drivers would signal when moving right or left within a roundabout or exiting from any position in it. Roundabouts would mean circular intersections with guided entry lanes where entering traffic must yield. Their boundaries would include crosswalks on entering and exiting roads. Drivers could make these moves only when reasonably safe. The requirement to signal continuously for at least the last 100 feet before turning would not apply to these roundabout moves or exits. If enacted, the proposal would have taken effect upon publication in the statute book.
