Starting July 1, 2026, signing certain withdrawal or nomination notices with a different address will ask the county to change the candidate's voter registration record.
When a candidate signs a covered election notice with an address different from their voter registration record, the signature asks the county to change that address.
The candidate's signature on a covered notice of withdrawal asks the county voter registration office to change the registration address. A covered notice can withdraw a candidacy or nomination, decline a nomination, ask for a name to appear on the ballot under specified nomination processes, or state which nomination the person will accept. This applies only if the notice lists an address different from the address on the candidate's voter registration record. This section takes effect July 1, 2026.
No hearings or votes scheduled.
