A person would be barred from waiving the firearm-return requirements as part of a plea agreement. It applies to the requirements in section 2 of this chapter for returning a firearm to its rightful owner. Any attempted waiver would be invalid and unenforceable as against public policy. The section would take effect July 1, 2026.
