If passed, this bill would let eligible technology parks in qualifying military base areas receive more yearly income tax money after reaching their Level 2 deposit limit.
A technology park in a qualifying military base area would become Level 3 after reaching its Level 2 deposit limit and staying certified. Its fund could get up to $250,000 a year per redevelopment commission in a written operating agreement, limited by eligible income taxes.
A qualifying park would become Level 3, and its fund would receive an additional yearly deposit based on eligible income taxes. This applies to certified technology parks within qualifying military base enhancement areas. The park must reach its Level 2 deposit limit and keep its certification. The deposit is the smaller of the eligible income tax amount or $250,000 for each redevelopment commission in a written agreement to operate the park. When the park is recertified, the responsible office must decide whether its Level 3 status continues. These proposed rules would take effect July 1, 2026.
