Idaho law provides $200,000 for the Legislature’s fiscal year 2026 operating costs and carries eligible leftover state funds into the next year for one-time expenses.
1
What it does
The law appropriates $200,000 from the state’s General Fund for the Legislature’s operating costs during fiscal year 2026.
Eligible General Fund money left unspent and uncommitted from fiscal year 2026 is reappropriated for the Legislature’s one-time costs in fiscal year 2027.
Argument forThe $200,000 appropriation could help the Legislature pay its operating costs during fiscal year 2026.
Argument againstLimiting leftover funds to one-time costs could leave the Legislature with less flexibility to pay ongoing expenses in fiscal year 2027.
